Intermittent Fasting – Frequently Asked Questions

There are many methods of intermittent fasting, e.g. 14/10, 16/8, 18/6 and 20/4. The first number, which is also the largest, indicates the hours we fast, consuming only liquids and drinks without calories. The second, the hours when we can eat as many meals as the corresponding duration allows (about 2-4)

No. At this point there is a misunderstanding. On the days or hours of nutrition, we can not count calories, but this does not mean that we can eat whatever we want. In other words, if we consume junk food, sweets and alcohol, we are not doing work.

On the days we eat, we should definitely eat 3-4 meals and not skip nutrients.

Studies show that fasting increases the metabolic rate, provided it is done under the guidance of an expert, with a specific duration and supervision.

Intermittent fasting is not suitable for underweight people (with a body mass index <18.5), pregnant women, breastfeeding women, children and adolescents under 16 years of age. It is not suitable for diabetics under medication, people who have liver problems, kidney failure and gastric duodenal ulcer.

Lethargy, low blood pressure, sleep disturbances, constipation, headaches, dizziness, nausea, heartburn and muscle cramps may occur in the first 3 days. This happens because all vital organs adapt to new conditions.
